2D crystal manipulation system

Our lab has an integrated 2D material transfer platform by ONWAY Tech for fabricating van der Waals heterostructures, which includes a motorized micro-manipulator and microscope for precise 2D crystal handling

Low-temperature scanning probe microscope

Our lab employs low-temperature ultra-high vacuum scanning tunneling microscopy (UHV-STM) to investigate the atomic structures and electronic properties of 2D materials. We have an in-house STM (Omicron Polar), and our facility at Westlake University also includes a more powerful UHV cluster system that integrates low temperature STM with other characterization techniques

CVD growth systems

Our lab has multiple high-temperature tube furnaces for the CVD growth of 2D materials and heterostructures

Quartz Tube Vacuum Sealing system

Our lab utilizes a rotary quartz tube vacuum sealing system from BALAB, which allows for vacuum sealing down to 10-6 Pa using an oxyhydrogen flame torch. This vacuum sealing system allows us to synthesize various van der Waals crystals through chemical vapor transport (CVT)
